I found Sheryl Bailey when I was checking out the drummer Ian Froman, she quite a jazz Guitarist.

Undoubtedly, they treated it as a purely social occasion they were quite while the music was being played but in between the talk was overpowering.Hello JHC,
Do you think that all the talk suggested some lack of interest in listening?
As far as classical concerts audiences are concerned the Women that I know were music lovers but in the Jazz clubs which is going back to my teen years and twenties perhaps they were after something other than the music :grin:I have a strong suspicion that audience equality in numbers does not necessarily imply equality in interest. After all, I always take my wife to concerts!
Eric.
It would be interesting to obtain true statistics on the % of males and females who truly
enjoy jazz. In my view the figure would be less than 10% and probably much lower.
Why is this do you think? It has always intrigued me. I suppose it must be that the part of the brain that men use to appreciate jazz is occupied by something else in females..... Just joking really).
