You were wrong Gord,
I doubt if any of us are frightened to admit that we still like the pop of our youth.
(What I call classic pop).
I personally have a large number of CDs (many converted from vinyl) of Bing Crosby,
Frank Sinatra, Jack Jones, Perry Como, Doris Day, Frankie Laine, Nat King Cole and many others of that ilk.
I am still fond of The Beatles and the Stones and other groups of the 60s to 80s
(especially Tears for Fears) although to me standards have lowered since then.
Since I am also keen on Classical, Opera and Ballet music and many of the Musicals
produced from the 30s to recently, I think I can claim to be a versatile music fan,
without any need to hide. (Although my two sons mock my love of Jazz in particular,
and my eldest two grandsons listen on their iphones to music? which is to me totally incomprehensible).
You know, I do believe that it is the younger generations who are intolerant to the favourite music of others.
Cheers John
