    File types in attachments

Is there any chance of adding the MusicXML file type to the attachment list?

For some reason I'm having difficulty generating PDFs of music, most notation software apps can cope with XMLs so it could be handy for sharing scores.

I am not familiar with that file type, Mike.

Did some research on it and it appears it could be compatible with vBulletin allowable file types. However, it is a form of 'markup language'. They are structured files with tags (similar to HTML files) and generally represent some sort of database-like structure for the data between the tags. We do not permit the use of HTML whatsoever as it causes extensive use of the server and the server processor(s).

Although I do have the ability to add this particular item, I'm now quite sure how to "define" its use in the data tables of vBulletin ... It's a different animal than PDF or XLS or MP3 where I completely understand about bytes, kb's, etc.

So, I'll refer this question to Frederik for the definitive answer ... he's the one who keeps up to date on all the technical aspects of the forum.

More on attachments, is it possible to delete attachments to make room for more? Not that I need this yet, just looking ahead to a bit of clearing out out of date stuff
    Cheers MIKE.

:banghead: Forgive me for not seeing this post earlier, Mike.

Yes, users can delete their own attachments ... here's how. On the top navigation bar, click on "Forum Actions", then select "General Settings". What appears next is your User Control Panel. Scroll down to "Miscellaneous", then select "Attachments". You will then see a full listing (with multiple pages possibly) of all your present and active attachments.

For each attachment, you can see the filesize, how many times the file has been downloaded, and the posted date.

To delete individual attachments, click on the tick box at the far right for each attachment. Be careful not to click on the tick box at the very top. Once the various attachments you want to remove are checked, scroll down to the bottom and click on "Delete Selected".

You have 122 attachments that are using 100.02 MB of your allowed 150.0 MB storage space. Once you cross the threshold of 2,500 posts, your storage space increases to 350.00 MB.
