Well,I couldn't live without classical music! I am well educated and very knowledgeable and actually largely self-taught in the wonders of music. I lean toward the romantic and 20th century works. My favorite composer is Mahler. I have heard his symphonies live in concert at Detroit's Orchestra Hall. Detroit has a world-class orchestra,by the way. My other"hero" is Shostakovich.I love the orchestral and symphonic music the most. Hearing a great orchestra playing a great sumphony by a great composer really gets my blood boiling. To me,music is life in sound,it should mirror all the emotions imaginable in a humans brain. I can play entire symphonies in my mind,note-for-note. I think I am musically blessed, I wish to correspond with other people that share my enthusiasm with romantic an 20th century music. My dream is to conduct Mahler's 9th symphony in Vienna or London. I think I could instill in the players the motivation to make the event the ultimate performance! P,S, I think the greatest conductor of all time was Wilhelm Furtwangler.
