Just a quick greeting from a cellist from Long Island.

If you want to learn more about me, please check out my two MySpace pages:

http://www.myspace.com/cambiatagn (my individual page)
http://www.myspace.com/crossislandensemble(the page of my piano/cello duo-based chamber music collaborative)

There are a few tracks on each of these pages. You can also hear more of my playing at http://www.terrywinchell.com andhttp://www.hungrytown.net - the sites of the singer/songwriter and retro folk duo with whom I work, respectively.

I welcome the opportunity to collaborate with artists across genres.

What led Me to become a Cellist

I was born with pretty much no hips and was in braces and was in braces and casts from 6 months to two years, when I had the first of many surgeries. My Mom was determined that I wouldn't just watch tv.

A friend of hers, Benar Heifetz, came and played the cello for me when I was two (and lying in a body cast) - Bach - and I fell in love with it. 43 years later, there's still a quality of the cello that resonates with me as no other instrument does. And I love its versatility - it goes almost as low as a bass and almost as high as a violin, so it can do everything from bass lines to descants and can have a character ranging from lyrical to raunchy to rhythmic.
