No John. not Shelley. But, he played on many West Coast sessions and was also, like Shelley, a regular in The Lighthouse Club.
Shelley was the more well known and overshadowed him. In fact there was a saying around at that time - 'there are three drummers on the West Coast , there's Shelly Manne and there's Shelley Manne, but I forget who the other on is!'

This jazz trumpeter came from a notable family of jazz musicians and served in the US Army during WW2
