(more) organ bling

I'm not going to answer this one!:lol: What the heck! I do like this one.
I'm still trying to get back on the one I dearly love to play at church.
You see the one on my avatar. He is more my size right now and my
favorite if I can convence someone that everything will be all right.
I would like to try Minuet in G by Bach on it and Electric Dreams. I know
that the pipe is as much a classical instrument as a violin and cello.
I'm one of those who like to rock on it anyway. Maybe that's the
reason why I'm not allowed back on the organ.

Judy, that's sad. Your church needs a firm word about being inclusive I think!!

Those two organists are being the prudes. It is not "their" instrument - it belongs to the congregation, as they are the ones who finance the upkeep of this great instrument.
The organist(s) is (are) being way too over protective of that instrument. If I were you, I would be writing letters to the Elders and/or the Church Council about this, or find another church to practice at - surely there are other organs about town that have 61 note manuals and 32 note pedalboards.
It is the repetitious practicing of the notes that one needs to stay in shape - the sound or appearance of the organ is secondary ... we need not "hear" with our "eyes". I've played lots of "clunkers" over the years - Even Virgil Fox personally told me about practicing on anything ... it's the fingers and toes that need the workout, not the ears or eyes.
I do hope you can resolve your practicing issues ... It would be shameful to waste your God given talents just because you can't practice on a favorite organ.

CT - sorry, just seen your message.
I took a couple of pictures of the organ I play at our local village Church. 3 pics in all, I added them to the gallery.
It's certainly not the biggest organ, but it makes a nice sound.
When I finally get confident enough, and have the hardware to do so, I'm planning on recording a few pieces and will put a link to the MP3's up here.

Judy - organists are precious creatures, that's for sure. I hope that you eventually get back to playing it. Have you spoken to the minister/clergy?
