    Hi teddy and gord,
    I dont think there is anything more the 3 of us can say about Big T, for the record I have the following
    Cds by him.
    T for Trombone; The Jazz legends Series; Father of Jazz Trombone 3CD set; Misery and the Blues;
    Texas Teaparty; 4 CD set "Big T"; (plus a number of self produced Selection Cds for my own amusement ie Car player).

    Gord. I'm pleased you Like Jim Tomlinson as much as I do. Unfortunately he has mostly subdued himself to fit in with having the roll as accompanying group for his wifes vocal music (Which I like a lot anyway). I'm finding some of his other stuff by researching
    Spotify and Youtube. Let me know if you would like more info.
    Cheers John

    Thanks John. A long time favourite recording of mine. Bought it many years ago and it never ever loses it's magic.

    teddy - its a lovely rendering of the tune but the classic version is by Charley Parker.
    The story goes that following a train journey to California, deprived of booze and drugs, he went wild with both A.S.A.P.
    on his arriva,l and subsequently had to be carried to the Studio, and needed to be supported during this famous recording of Lover Man.

    When Parker plays like that I could listen to him all day. Keep meaning to watch the film made by Clint Eastwood called, I believe Bird.

    Thats good Gord - some of my favourite stars in there

    Here's one of them http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5jXfR...yer_detailpage

    Strangely, my Youtube check on Buddy de Franco threw up a suggestion that Eddie Danielles was the greatest clarinetist.
    Well since I'd never heard of him I checked him out - he's good alright
