Interesting, but yes I do find it a bit contrived. The voice over remends me of THE ADVENTURES OF NOGGIN THE NOG. Went to a clients funeral a couple of years ago. They played Stairway to Heaven. Unfortunately the last time I had heard it played was the Rolf Harris version. Rather spoilt the moment.

    Hi Gord,
I always enjoyed Dankworth - he had something different to whatever else was going on in British jazz at the time; (but yes, corny describes it).

I was very touched to read that Ben Webster was crying just before the next set, because he had just learnt of the death of Johnny Hodges.

Notice the lovely sound of my favourite piano player (Teddy Wilson)
    Now here's Johnny.

    Cheers John

when jazz fans mention the greatest jazz album ever, this has got to be a contender. cannonball adderley, miles davis and that great rhythm section, hank jones, sam jones and art blakey. gord

    Sorry teddy,
i couldnt locate anything meaningful on that link (probably just my poor level of IT knowledge) or as my better half would call it STUPIDITY.
Anyway I thought I would enter the following item for discussion
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=msONI...yer_detailpage

Is this sort of music jazz or is it verging on Classical?

Sadly, No, but it's nice catchy listening music which doesn't overtax the brain.

Lovely selection John. Unfortunately I fell in love with the voice of Dionne Warwick listening to her on Caroline late at night. Walk on By and You'll Never Get to Heaven were the two other favourites.
