Wow ... the past week we have had torrential thunderstorms, accompanied by deadly lightening dancing all around. Two huge storms back-to-back dumped almost 2 inches of rain on this normally arid desert plain within two hours! The temperature that evening went from 106°f/41.4°c to 66°f/19°c in just one hour!! A forty degree drop!!
Guess we are still in 'monsoon' season ... only the clouds and the rainmaker finally figured out that we weren't getting enough of the wet stuff. Love the rain!! It could be cloudy and rain everyday and I would be perfectly happy.

Fall is just around the corner here. I got cold last night when the temps got to 50.
I had to turn off the air and turn on the heat to get comfortable. It's 65 degrees now
and still cool. I know that summer was hot but I miss it all ready.

So far, this month (Sept 2011) the Old Pueblo has surpassed the previous record (1964) for rainfall. The old record was 5.11 inches; as of the 16th of Sept, we have had 5.87 inches of rain this month, and the monsoon season is not yet over.
We've had severe flooding in some areas (not at our house, though), power outages, and lots of idiot drivers who think they can make it through a wash with 4 feet of rapidly flowing water. For those people, we have the Arizona Stupid Motorist Law which can fine them up to $2,000 (USD).
Today, a sunny 94°c/34.7°c ... no breeze.
