Ah Judy.. The steinway is a great instrument. I remember in college being able to play a 9 foot concert one..What a great sound and classic design. Thanks for view of this gem too.

I thought some would be impressed. I have seen some
really beautiful pipe organs since I joined in 2007 in
this forum. I thought I would share what I love to play
besides the pipe organ and my guitar.

. . . I remember in college being able to play a 9 foot concert one..What a great sound and classic design.

When I was in high school, our auditorium had a 9' concert grand Steinway ... as the choral accompanist I got to play it regularly - a real treat, for sure. ;)

The one Judy has illustrated is absolutely gorgeous.

Thank you Krommhorn. The music stand on it looked like a
piece of lace. This piano was built during the Victorian era.

Did any of you look at the music stand on this piano and
the art work? The music stand looks like a piece of
lace.

Hey, Judy Tooley! Here's a scan of a cassette cover I bought yesterday.
Seeing that organ really caught my attention, even if I don't know where it's at.
And I'm a rock guitarist. What am I doing buying organ with trumpet and oboe?
That's the magle.dk influence.
Now I'm scopin'out Catholic churches for some late night b&e's,
so I can fire up the pipes big time, and maybe catch a heavenly light.

That's a beautiful piano, and being a Steinway, it's built for the ages.

I can't help wondering what the difference in cost would be between 1882 and now. I dare say, quite a bunch, meaning several times the original.

The Catholic churches aren't the only ones with beautiful organs.
The one I go to is a Methodist church with a pipe organ. Believe
me it sounds really great.

Judy! I thought you'd appreciate me focussing on lifting Catholic church organs,
not Methodist.
You want to know where I'm seeing organs all the time?
That's for sale. A lot of those home organs with bass pedals and rhythm units,
for free, ten or twenty bucks, or if a big model Hammond, 200-$500.
I had to leave a Thomas Organ behind when I made my last move.
It looked new, with bench, 96 page manual and a box of music, $20.
Now I'm wondering if I'll ever see a port-a-B I can carry up these stairs.

Someone is hanging onto those.

Judy, thanks for sharing that. What a stunning instrument. You had Joe and me just salivating over watching it. :)
