The Mayans had two calendars, one very lengthy and universal,
the other for week days.
The ceremonial calendar would simply be renewed if that civilization was still publicly active.
Their supernatural bird, the Quetzoacotl, who predicted the arrival of white conquerers,
why so many ceded authority to conquistadors right away,
predicted it's own travel to another dimension, saying life would change when it came back.
We should fear the return of Quetzoacotl.
It took modern laser science to improve on Mayan measurements to the sun and moon, by mere miles.
They used wheels for toys and ceremonial calendars, but never used beasts of burden with carts.
A lush and gracious lifestyle for all.
For the first half of my lifetime, I kept hearing about human sacrifices and they had no written language.
Their libraries were destroyed by Jesuits, but works are now surfacing.
