This is busting loose for me, and very unexpectedly.
Everyone is talking to me about this amphitheatre performance,
everyone being happy I'm happy and playing guitar, nothing political.
Everyone is talking about how much I played and how fast my fingers are. Yeah!
I've been asked to join one band, jam with another, and rehearse with two singer-songwriters.
Being offered a Saturday night at an uptown bar-restaurant made me feel serious,
so I bought a used, made in Mexico Fender Stratocaster, looking new, for $129.95, plus taxes.
This is strange, playing a small-scale Stratocaster that now feels like a small acoustic to me.
The low price is a result of the tremolo arm being bent with threads stripped,
what happens when you buy an "unfinished" Strat without adding an interior wood block,
or setting up the string and spring action, properly.
I can trade it in for full value against any other items in the store, a nice deal for me.
But that means I have to stop playing it and finish my semi-solid-body, as I'm trying to do.
Playing this Strat is setting me up for my semi-solid-body when it's finished,
a full and easily accessed two octaves, with extra octave notes, two for the high e string.
Uh, new music? It can be more than just possible with new notes, and sounds.
I just want to use them in a dramatic and musically contextual way, historic even.
