I agree Teddy, tell it like it is, why can't people use the proper terms.
Because the minorities have PC on their side and the rest of us are scared to stand up and say otherwise

Sheffield Council have decided to ban all ice cream vans over five years old. This is to help reduce global warming. As 90% of the vans are privately owned and over five years old this will put most of the traders out of business just as the season starts. There will also be an awful lot of kids (of all ages) who will be disappointed this Summer. The Chinese, who are opening a new coal fired power station every week must be very relieved.

I believe in America you call them good favour vans.?????

Tonight the government votes as to whether to allow homosexual marriage. If it receives a yes vote they will also have to allow civil ceremonies between heterosexual couples!!! And allow Jedi marriages (Jedi's are a recognised faith over here) plus all the other faiths.
You could not make it up.

Like I said Colin, you could not make it up. Other religions such as Wicka and humanism will have their say and after all I believe a Roman Emperor married his horse I believe so their is prior. Where it will end is anyboys guess.

Poppycock ... global warming is, imho, a crock ... 100,000 years ago we had "global cooling" ... the world can warm or cool without human interference. Science says that this occurs at 100,000 year intervals. Right now we are in the 10k to 20k warm period ... another 20k years and we will be cooling again.

Exactly why I don't buy anything made in China ... not because of any 'warming crock' but because of poor quality. Seems the British designed stuff fares much better than American products, too.

Good Humor vans ... owned by Unilever who also makes bath soaps. Egad, are we eating frozen soap?

It's better that way, teddy ... too much sugar in ice cream anyway.

Although, we found a brand, Blue Bunny Sweet Freedom, that is sugar free and does not have that 'plastic' taste at all. Don't know if you have that sort of thing in the UK or not though.

I expect that there is something similar Lars. I personally like Cornish ice cream. Very rich and tasty.

Teddy, suggest you nip into the nearest Lidl and try some of their ice creams, best I've had outside of Italy. I'm currently demolishing a tub from their Noblissima range of tubs "Crema di Frutta" - peach and mango as far as I can taste yyyuuuummmmmmmmmmmmmyyy. Their Gelatelli range is mostly on a stick or cornetto style, try the strawberry coated in white crispy chocolate.

Found this interesting bit re difference between Italian Gelato and "ordinary" ice cream

Sounds good to me Mike but I am on a kick to get rid of the last few pounds to take me below fourteen stone. Almost there. If only the weather would warm up tp make it easier

Aaargh! Ice cream was getting to icy and losing too much flavour back in the early seventies,
so I started buying yogurt ice cream until that got watered down too.

I bought two kg's of unpasteurized buckwheat honey, $18.50, making toasted honey sandwiches.
I went through that in less than a month, getting sticky'wit'it every day.
I think Paganini used buckwheat honey to make his tuners stick.

Karl Lagerfeld, the multi-millionaire fashin designer,
described his understandings of men and women and love and sex,
and ended by wondering why, after all of that,
he has found out he truly loves only his one cat.
